Welcome to Hamilton, also known as The Hammer and Steel Town. This city earned its nickname from its deep industrial roots — for decades, Hamilton has been one of Canada’s most important steel-producing hubs, home to major companies like Stelco and Dofasco.

Located along the western edge of Lake Ontario, Hamilton played a huge role in Canada’s manufacturing boom throughout the 20th century. While parts of the city have faced economic challenges in recent years, it’s also seen a wave of change — with growing arts scenes, new businesses, and a reputation as one of Ontario’s most interesting (and sometimes misunderstood) cities.
