I Visited That Giant Jesus Statue on the Mountain 🇧🇷

Today I’m visiting one of the most recognizable landmarks on Earth—Christ the Redeemer, the towering statue that watches over Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Standing 30 metres (98 feet) tall, with arms stretching 28 metres (92 feet) wide, it has become a symbol not only of Rio but of Brazil itself. In 2007, it was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, attracting millions of visitors every year from every corner of the globe.

But this visit comes on an emotional day for Brazil. While overlooking one of the most breathtaking cities in the world, the country is also coming to terms with its World Cup defeat to Norway—a result that has left fans across the nation heartbroken. Football is woven into Brazilian culture, and you can feel that disappointment everywhere you go.

Join me as we take in the incredible views from the top of Corcovado Mountain, learn the history behind this world-famous monument, and experience what Rio feels like on a day filled with both pride and heartbreak.
