America Funded China’s AI Prison. Nobody Stopped It

The $3 Billion American Investment That Built China’s First AI Concentration Camp

Five American venture capital firms quietly funneled over $3 billion into Chinese AI companies. Those companies built the cameras, the facial recognition systems, and the algorithms that put one million people in concentration camps. Nobody told the investors what their money would build. Nobody told the prisoners why they were arrested. And by the time anyone figured out what had happened — the system was already running. 🔴

This is the story of how the world’s first AI-powered concentration camp was built — with Silicon Valley money, American technology, and the most sophisticated surveillance system ever deployed against a civilian population. A system called IJOP. An algorithm that decides in 6 seconds whether you’re a criminal. A network of 380 camps holding people whose only crime was buying too much rice, walking 300 meters off their usual route, or owning a copy of the Quran. ⚡

Xinjiang Uyghur genocide, AI surveillance China, IJOP algorithm Uyghur, American companies China surveillance, Sequoia Capital DeepGlint Xinjiang, Xinjiang Police Files, China concentration camps AI, Uyghur forced labor supply chain, Silicon Valley China investment human rights, first AI genocide, China Uyghur camps exposed, forced sterilization Xinjiang — if you’ve ever wondered how a government uses artificial intelligence to erase an entire culture, who built the technology, and how your purchases might be connected to what’s happening right now — this is that story. 🧠

In 2022, a hacker broke into the internal police networks of Xinjiang and extracted tens of thousands of classified files. The Xinjiang Police Files. Not testimony. Not satellite images. Beijing’s own data, stolen from their own servers. The youngest prisoner in those files: 15 years old. The reason for arrest: “Studied the Quran.” Another entry — a woman, 38 years old. Crime: “Wore a veil three times in 2016.” Sentence: seven years. 👀
Sequoia Capital invested almost $15 million into DeepGlint — a facial recognition company that co-founded a surveillance lab in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang, with Chinese authorities in 2018. Qualcomm Ventures put $19 million into SenseTime, another AI firm blacklisted by the US government for its role in tracking Uyghurs. GGV Capital. GSR Ventures. Walden International. Five firms. $3 billion. One system that hunts human beings by their face. 💰

The algorithm is still running. The camps are still operating. And the technology that powers them is spreading — to Serbia, the UAE, Venezuela, Ecuador, Zimbabwe. What China built in Xinjiang is not staying in Xinjiang. 👻
