Aokigahara Jukai, often called the “Sea of Trees,” lies at the base of Mount Fuji and is one of Japan’s most mysterious forests. Formed on ancient lava flows from a historic eruption of Fuji, the dense canopy and quiet, winding trails create an atmosphere that has fueled local legends for generations. Over time, stories of wandering spirits and unexplained experiences have given the forest a reputation as one of the most haunted places in Japan.
The footage in this video was filmed during my first visit back in 2021 (on my new video I said 8 years ago, but it looks like it was only 5 years ago). I’m sharing it now on my Chris Must List Raw page for those who want to see some of my older, unfiltered adventures—especially since I returned to the forest again yesterday for the first time in nearly a decade.
